As FC Barcelona wrapped up their Asian tour with a dominant 5-0 victory over Daegu FC in South Korea, a brief moment of concern arose for the Catalan side. Pau Cubarsí, who came on in the second half to replace Ronald Araújo in central defense, had to leave the pitch in the 87th minute after appearing to feel pain in his left leg.

The young Spanish defender, a breakout star from last season, pointed to the upper part of his left tibia while lying on the pitch, prompting immediate medical attention. After a few tense minutes, Cubarsí got back to his feet and walked off under his own power—clearly in discomfort, but without limping, which offered some relief to fans and teammates.

He was then escorted to the locker room by the medical staff for further examination. According to Sport, it appears to be nothing more than a knock, with no signs of muscular injury. This was later confirmed by Barça head coach Hansi Flick in a post-match press conference: “It’s just a knock, he’s fine,” he assured reporters.

This match marked the end of Barça’s summer tour in Asia. The team now returns to Catalonia to prepare for the Joan Gamper Trophy, their final pre-season fixture before the official campaign kicks off.

👉 A minor scare for Cubarsí, but a reminder that every minute of pre-season carries its risks.
