The amateur football world is in mourning. A devastating tragedy occurred this Tuesday with the heartbreaking death of Ilann, a 14-year-old central defender who played for the U15 team of Jeunesse Villenavaise.
The young player suffered a severe impact during an aerial duel on Sunday while participating in a tournament in Mérignac, located in the Gironde region of France. After the collision, Ilann complained of intense chest pain before collapsing. He was quickly taken into emergency care and placed in a coma. Sadly, despite the tireless efforts of the medical staff, Ilann did not survive. He passed away on Tuesday due to internal bleeding in his liver.
💔 This is an unimaginable loss for his family, his teammates, his club, and everyone who knew him. Ilann was described as a passionate and dedicated young footballer, always smiling and full of promise for the future.
The Jeunesse Villenavaise club expressed their deep sorrow in a statement, paying tribute to “an exemplary young man, loved by all” and offering their heartfelt support to his family during this painful time.
